Summary of the contracting process

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees has organised a comprehensive procurement process to support their Home Support Services project, providing crucial care for adults with specific needs in locations such as Huddersfield and Dewsbury. This project has reached the award stage as of 14 July 2026, following the last contract award decision on 22 June 2026. With a plan initiated back in 2025, businesses had multiple opportunities to engage with this process, including pre-bid engagement events meant to foster understanding of the procurement strategy. Contracts, managed under the Light Touch Regime with open, competitive procedures, cover the service provision from 2026 to 2029, with extensions potentially leading to 2035.

This tender offers significant growth opportunities for SMEs and other suppliers equipped with relevant CQC registration, benefiting from fixed rate frameworks. Successful suppliers were chosen for their ability to deliver robust health and social care services across various Kirklees boroughs, like Batley and Holme Valley. These frameworks allow companies to engage actively in rotating service deliveries, ensuring dynamic, flexible operational capabilities. Companies with intent to enhance their market reach in public sector contracts, committed to high-quality social care, will find the framework approach highly beneficial, with additional opportunities to join the framework as it reopens if necessary.
