Summary of the contracting process

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is in the planning stage of a procurement process titled "Technical Support Services (TSS) ITT" under the industry category of information technology services. The DVSA seeks to enter a contract valued at approximately £50 million to provide operational support for its core digital services, including MOT, Theory Test, and others, hosted on platforms like AWS and Azure. Located in Bristol, United Kingdom, the DVSA is a public authority within the central government. Preliminary market engagement activities are slated for June 2026, with a supplier event scheduled for 11th June 2026. Suppliers interested in this engagement need to register by 10th June 2026 and complete feedback by 19th June 2026. The procurement process is expected to progress with further communications anticipated in 2026, leading to a formal tender in 2027.

This procurement opportunity presents significant growth potential for IT service providers, particularly those specialising in consulting, software development, and infrastructure support. SMEs and VCSEs are encouraged to participate, as this project requires a robust service support model covering various functions like incident management and data security operations. Businesses equipped to offer 24/7 service and platform management, alongside second and third line support, are well-positioned to leverage this opportunity. The upcoming preliminary market engagement event affords potential suppliers the chance to gain insights into DVSA's requirements and influence the procurement strategy through active feedback and consultations.
