Summary of the contracting process

NHS England is in the planning stage of commissioning Perinatal Immunisation Services in Dorset, as outlined in a Prior Information Notice. This initiative falls under the 'Miscellaneous health services' industry category and involves services such as Pertussis, Flu, and COVID-19 vaccinations for pregnant women, as well as BCG vaccinations for newborn infants. The contracting process is being managed by NHS South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit. Key dates include the deadline for expressing interest, set at 12 noon on Friday, 6th June 2025, with the contract expected to commence on 1st September 2025 and run for three years, with a potential two-year extension.

This tender offers significant opportunities for healthcare providers specialising in immunisation services to expand their operations within the Dorset area. Businesses with the capacity to integrate these services into existing antenatal care frameworks will be particularly well-suited to benefit from the anticipated demand. The contract is valued at £130,000 per annum, with additional income expected based on the volume of vaccinations administered. Engaging in this procurement process could provide substantial growth prospects, particularly for enterprises focusing on maternal and infant health, as well as those dedicated to reducing health inequalities and improving immunisation uptake and data quality within the perinatal pathway.
