Summary of the contracting process

Salford City Council has initiated an open procurement process for the "S1083 - Framework for Demolition and Associated Services" under the UKPGA 2023/54 legal framework. This active tender, with tender ID S1083, involves works category activities focusing on demolition, site preparation, and clearance work, valued at a gross amount of £300 million. The procurement is open to participation without fees and includes framework agreements with methods allowing both reopening of competition and direct awards. Key dates for this tender include the submission deadline on 16 July 2026, enquiries' end on 7 July 2026, and an award decision by 1 September 2026. The work will be conducted within the UKD3 region, primarily benefitting sub-central governmental operations. Salford City Council serves as the buyer from its Manchester location, offering contact through their procurement email.

This demolition framework presents significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for SMEs and VCSEs, as the council emphasises quality, price, modern slavery considerations, and social value in its award criteria. The comprehensive scope includes high and low-rise demolitions, emergency works, asbestos removal, and security service provisions, supporting a broad range of potential participants. Businesses with expertise in construction, waste management, and supporting rapid deployment services, especially those who can provide competitive pricing aligned with quality and social value, would find this tender highly fitting. With contracts starting from September 2026 for a two-year period, there's substantial scope for companies in relevant sectors to secure continuous work and build long-term partnerships with Salford City Council and other associated Greater Manchester Combined Authority entities.
