Summary of the contracting process

Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council is planning a procurement process titled "Minor Works Framework" focusing on construction work within the Oldham area, North West England. This initiative is currently in the Planning stage and involves small construction projects such as building repairs, fence repairs, roofing, and glazing. The formal invitation to tender is anticipated to be published by 1st October 2025, with the framework aiming to commence on 2nd March 2026 and concluding by 1st March 2034. The framework will have an estimated total expenditure between £4 million and £8 million over its full term, and it may be subject to various procurement regulations such as the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The flexible procurement approach allows changes in the procurement route until the official tender is issued, ensuring alignment with future procurement plans.

This tender presents ample business growth opportunities, particularly for SMEs specializing in construction and maintenance services. The framework allows for repeated participation throughout its duration, enabling contractors to establish long-term relationships with the Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council. Consequently, businesses capable of providing comprehensive construction services, including minor repairs and refurbishments, would find this opportunity highly beneficial. By aligning with regional public authorities, businesses can secure a stable pipeline of work, ensuring consistent revenue streams and market presence in the construction industry sector.
