Summary of the contracting process

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is actively seeking a contractor for the provision of Manned Guarding Services across its UK buildings. This tender falls under the "Guard services" industry category and is currently in the tender stage. Key dates include an expression of interest deadline on 13 July 2026, and the contract period spans from 1 July 2027, potentially extending until 30 June 2033, with an optional 12-month extension. This procurement process employs a selective, competitive flexible procedure, requiring suppliers to complete a Pre-Selection Questionnaire (PSQ) alongside mandatory and discretionary checks, including a Non-Disclosure Agreement. The contract is subject to security and governance measures, highlighting the defence and security regime's importance, with an expected value of approximately £44.32 million.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses capable of delivering high-security guarding services. Businesses suited for this contract should demonstrate experience in handling complex, multi-site security management, particularly within sensitive environments. As the FCDO prioritizes legal and financial capacities, firms with requisite industry certifications, such as Security Industry Authority (SIA) licensing, alongside robust financial structures, will find themselves well-positioned to meet the tender requirements. SMEs are encouraged to apply, ensuring a competitive landscape that embraces innovation and efficiency in safeguarding the FCDO’s operational resilience goals. This contract offers a chance for businesses to cement their reputation in high-security service delivery, fostering long-term relationships with a central government authority.
