The purpose of such engagement is to understand the level of market interest and to seek market intelligence on offerings in the market on both commercial off the shelf solutions as well as any innovatative proposals from organisations that may have an interest or expertise in this field The Council is aiming to procure a solution which will deliver and future proof the current functionality and additionally provide flexibility to exploit the use of new technology where this provides benefit to the business, in relation to Advanced Email Threat Protection Objectives of the Preliminary Market Engagement Exercise are to: - gain initial supplier awareness, engagement and opinion; - provide confidence around viability of concept; - gain insight to the market possibilities and potential innovative solutions; - understand risks and issues not previously considered; - inform the Outline Business Case; - inform the Procurement Strategy; and - prevent the Council from advertising an unachievable project at UK e-notification service www.find-tender.service.gov.uk stage.

As a principle the Council is embracing digitalisation moving towards streamlining, automation and channel adoption, with customer self-service at every opportunity. The Council have formed several specific questions, and are seeking your views on how we can achieve best value in respect of these delivered as a commercially off the shelf solution (COTS) .
