Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Croydon is in the planning stage of a major regeneration project titled "Design and Build Regina Road combined with Demolition," set in Croydon, UK. The procurement process is part of the SEC Construction and Development Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). It falls under the construction work industry category, with a total project value expected to exceed £50 million. Interested contractors must register on the DPS by midday on 16th June 2025. The project entails the demolition of existing structures and the construction of up to 340 new homes, with phase one focused on delivering 225 affordable housing units. The main site works are scheduled to start in March 2026, making timely registration crucial for interested bidders.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction companies, especially those with experience in large-scale housing development and regeneration projects. Businesses specialising in design and build contracts could benefit from participating in phase one, which includes pre-construction services and the overall project management. The project's emphasis on affordability and community spaces might appeal to organisations that aim to grow their portfolio in socially responsible construction. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) could also stand to gain, given the project's scale and requirements. Engaging early in this substantial long-term contract could provide sustained business growth and community engagement benefits.
