Summary of the contracting process

The University of Exeter established a multi-lot furniture framework for the supply and installation of furniture supporting development, refurbishment and day-to-day operations across its academic, residential and professional-services estate. The requirement covers workplace and learning-space furniture, ergonomic and display-screen-equipment accessories, fixed lecture-theatre and raked seating, residential furniture, beds and mattresses, laboratory and work benches, laboratory chairs, cabinetry and chemical cabinets. Awards dated 1 May 2026 were made separately: workplace and learning-space furniture to BOF Group and Wagstaff Interiors (£10,000,000 excluding VAT); ergonomic accessories to Back Care Solutions and Wagstaff (£500,000); lecture-theatre seating to Auditoria Services and Race Furniture (£2,500,000); residential furniture to Bedcare and FMS (£1,500,000); beds and mattresses to Bishops Beds and FMS (£500,000); and laboratory, chair, cabinetry and chemical-cabinet lots to Wagstaff (£1,500,000, £500,000, £500,000 and £500,000 respectively). The framework uses direct awards by ranked position and reopened competition where applicable, with quality weighted 60% and price 40%. A £96,859.54 call-off for LERP Queens Building was signed on 24 July 2026, running to 24 September 2026.
