Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by Cornwall Council, focuses on securing specialised services for Parent and Child Residential Assessments across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. This falls under the industry categories of education and training services, as well as other community, social, and personal services. The procurement is currently at the planning stage, with a deadline for interest submission by 12 noon on 25th June 2025. This contract, valued at £6,000,000, aims to engage the Voluntary, NHS, Independent, and Private Sectors in a soft market assessment. The procurement method in use is tender, and the process addresses significant concerns regarding parental care capabilities in a residential observation setting, typically lasting 12 weeks.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses involved in social care and residential assessment services, particularly those with expertise in delivering complex assessments in family settings. Companies capable of providing comprehensive evaluation services that ensure child safety and effective parental support are well-suited to compete in this tender. The opportunity can stimulate growth for organisations that aim to expand their portfolio in social service provision, engage with public sector procurement, and contribute significantly to community welfare through dedicated services.
