Summary of the contracting process

Caerphilly County Borough Council invites tenders for the replacement of boiler systems at Fochriw Primary School, located in Hengoed, UK. This project involves the installation of new boiler plants and various associated works within the school's Junior and Infants buildings. The procurement process is at the Tender stage, with a deadline for submission on 4 July 2025. The project is categorised under construction and heating engineering services, with a gross value of £165,600. The open competition method is being employed for this below-threshold works contract, with the completion timeframe set from 7 July to 29 August 2025, to align with the school's summer closing period. All queries are to be submitted via the Proactis portal before 2 July 2025.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities for construction and heating engineering firms, particularly those familiar with working in educational facilities. The need for a comprehensive programme of works means it would be well-suited to businesses capable of delivering detailed project plans and adhering strictly to timelines. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to participate, as the selection criteria favour compliance to conditions and specifications while offering the most competitive total costs. This contract not only boosts a company's portfolio but also strengthens its reputation for handling projects governed by Welsh devolved regulations effectively.
