Water Rescue PPE and Associated Equipment
Notice Description
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is seeking qualified suppliers for the provision of Water Rescue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), a repair and maintenance service and associated products such as water rescue poles, lifejackets and related equipment. WYFRS equips and trains operational personnel to respond effectively to water-related incidents. The service operates with two distinct levels of water rescue capability. MOD2 (Level 1) Equipment and PPE are deployed across 34 fire stations MOD3 (Level 2) Swift Water Technicians are based at 6 fire stations, requiring enhanced equipment and PPE. The Procurement is structured into 10 individual lots.

Planning Information
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is inviting expressions of interest for an upcoming tender for WYFRS4043 - Water Rescue PPE and Associated Equipment. WYFRS is looking to assess the market's interest and its ability to bid for and deliver this upcoming contract. A high-level overview of the key requirements is outlined below, the full details will be provided in the tender documentation: WYFRS is seeking qualified suppliers for the provision of Water Rescue PPE, a repair and maintenance service and associated products such as rescue poles, lifejackets and related equipment. The tender will be structured into 10 Lots comprising of; • Lot 1 – Drysuit – MOD2 (Level 1) • Lot 2 – Drysuit – MOD 3 (Level 2) Swift Water Rescue Technician • Lot 3 – Undersuits • Lot 4 – Thermal Base Layer • Lot 5 – Thermal Socks • Lot 6 – Water Rescue Boots • Lot 7 – Lifejackets • Lot 8 – Personal Flotation Devices/Buoyancy Aids • Lot 9 – Water Rescue Gloves • Lot 10 – Water Rescue/Wading Poles The tender is expected to be issued around the end of August / Beginning of September 2025, with a contract start date approximately late November 2025. The contract term will last a minimum of 3 years, with options to extend for 2 x 1-year periods, bringing the total duration to a maximum of 5 years. The estimated cost for the full contract term is between £200,000 and £300,000.
