Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Regional Business Services Organisation, Procurement and Logistics Service, acting as the buyer, and Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, the procuring entity, for the provision of sterilisation products. The procurement is carried out using an open procedure, complete with the framework agreement and options for additional purchases. Key dates include the start of the contract period on 1st May 2026 and its completion on 30th April 2028, with potential renewal until 2030. The process comprises multiple lots, each describing specific medical equipment within the broader industry category of medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and personal care products, and is located in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

For businesses looking to expand, this tender presents numerous opportunities for suppliers of sterilisation products, which are crucial for health services. Companies specialising in medical equipment manufacturing have the opportunity to secure long-term contracts with multiple Health Trusts across Northern Ireland. The procurement is particularly suited for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the medical equipment sector that can offer innovative products meeting the required standards. This provides a stable avenue for business growth and establishing a footprint in the healthcare sector through an authoritative contracting body.
