This initiative falls under the category of services and aims to engage interested parties in a market engagement exercise to better understand available solutions before launching a formal procurement. The main procurement stage currently involves the collection of information regarding systems' functionality, pricing, and innovative approaches. The exercise is set to conclude on 25th July 2025 and includes potential future procurement activities slated for 29th August 2025. Notice Title

Procurement, Implementation, Training, Maintenance and Ongoing Support of a Dental Practice Management System

Notice Description

University of Portsmouth is seeking information from potential suppliers regarding a Dental Practice Management Systems (DPMS). This Soft Market Exercise (SME) aims to gather insights into the available solutions and functionality, industry best practices, indicative pricing and innovative approaches before launching a formal procurement process.

Planning Information

This soft market exercise ("Exercise") is intended to allow interested organisations with appropriate experience to outline their views and provide impartial information to the University with no commitment to themselves or the University. It is not part of a formal procurement process, nor shall the University be committed to carrying out such a process. The ultimate aim is to understand the strengths and weaknesses of the various solutions available to the University to deliver the outcomes above. The aim of the Exercise is not to select organisations with which to work, it is to better understand the solutions available in the market to inform the University's strategy for fulfilling their requirements. It can, however, be viewed as an opportunity for contractors to become more familiar with the University and inform the University of their organisation and relative services. The Exercise process will consist of submission of the attached questionnaire using the University's e-tendering portal as detailed in section 7. Interested parties should note that they are required not to make direct contact with university employees and all correspondence should be directed to the Procurement Team. The University is not able to facilitate site visits as part of this exercise. This is not a call for competition at this stage.
