Notice Title

Clinical Audit Tool

Notice Description

The project aims to procure, where possible, a turn-key commercial off the shelf solution to replace in-house developed tools, for the conduct of clinical audit. Following successful delivery and acceptance of the system the Trust wishes to engage the supplier for operational maintenance and support services. The high-level scope requires an audit tool that: 1. Can interface with in-service systems such as electronic patient record and computer aided dispatch and/or the NWAS data warehouse to import data required to complete regulatory audits, e.g. ambulance care quality indicator (ACQI) returns and/or to conduct local discretionary audits. 2. Can record, store and report on the audits required for NWAS integrated contact centre to maintain their licence to operate the various clinical decision support systems, e.g. NHS Pathways, used in the trust.

Planning Information

A one-hour market engagement session will be held on Microsoft Teams on Friday 1st August from 10:30am to 11:30am. The purpose of this session is to inform potential suppliers of a forthcoming opportunity to tender for a digital clinical audit tool (CAT) solution for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS). NWAS will present an overview of the current state for conducting audits and articulate the future business needs. Afterwards, a question and answer document containing specific technical questions will be issued to all suppliers who have expressed an interest in this notice. Suppliers will be asked to submit any responses by Friday 8th August. Any information obtained by the Trust through this market engagement will be used solely to conceptualise how the system can be realised, considering the various data sources. The Trust will take care to ensure that any amendments made to the specification, based on the responses received to the questionnaire, do not favour any one supplier or solution. The findings and outcome of this market engagement will be published in the ITT documentation. Any confidential information including intellectual property must be identified by any suppliers submitting responses to the question and answer document. Any such information will not be published in the ITT. NWAS have scheduled to publish the ITT on Friday 15th August, however, this date is subject to change. Procurement is estimated to be completed by November 2025. Any expressions of interest to take part in this market engagement should be emailed to strategicprocurement@nwas.nhs.uk by Wednesday 30th July at 4pm. You will then be invited to the market engagement session scheduled for Friday 1st August and included in any further communications regarding this market engagement notice.
