Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involving Supply Chain Coordination Limited focuses on a National Framework Agreement for Anaesthesia Machines, Ventilators, Neonatal Equipment, and Phototherapy Systems. This procurement is open to various NHS and other eligible authorities, with the framework lasting from 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2029, and an option to extend for another year. The framework is divided into four Lots, with Lot 1 focusing on Anaesthesia Machines, Lot 2 on Ventilator Equipment, Lot 3 on Neonatal Equipment, and Lot 4 on Adult and Paediatric Phototherapy Devices. Notably, the open procedure is utilised, ensuring broad competition among suppliers, including SMEs which are encouraged to participate. The estimated value is around £260 million over the four-year period, with significant initial expenditures anticipated in various Lots.

This tender opens up considerable opportunities for businesses in the medical equipment sector, particularly those specialising in anaesthesia, ventilation, and neonatal care technologies. Suppliers like Draeger Medical UK Ltd, GE Medical Systems Ltd, and Getinge Limited have been actively involved in these Lots, reflecting the strong demand from healthcare entities including NHS trusts and private healthcare organisations. SMEs like Athrodax Healthcare International Limited and Walters Medical Ltd are well-positioned to leverage these opportunities, given the procurement framework's support for sustainable practices and compliance requirements such as ISO certifications. This creates a conducive environment for business growth, particularly for companies focusing on advanced medical technologies and those willing to engage in direct supply routes to NHS organisations and other eligible entities across the UK.
