Bracknell Forest Council is seeking to establish a Short Breaks Play and Leisure Service for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on Saturdays and during school holidays. The Short Breaks service is intended to provide targeted play and leisure opportunities for children and young people aged 5-18 years whose needs cannot be met within mainstream provision and who require additional support due to the nature or complexity of their needs.

Bracknell Forest Council is seeking to engage with providers who have experience in delivering Short Breaks for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Providers are invited to participate in this Preliminary Market Engagement to help inform and shape the Council’s approach to commissioning a targeted Short Breaks service. Ahead of a tender process for a new service anticipated to start in April 2027, Bracknell Forest Council are seeking to engage with providers that can deliver high quality activities for the following groups of young people with disabilities: - Primary Age - Primary Age with Complex Needs - Secondary Age - Secondary Age with Complex Needs Areas to discuss with bidding suppliers will include: - To outline the Council’s proposed model for the Targeted Short Breaks Service - To provide an overview of the Proactis E-tender Portal - To allow providers the opportunity to ask questions about the model Both an in-person session at Bracknell Forest Council offices and online session via Microsoft Teams will be offered to suppliers. Please see the below details: - 23rd March 2026, 12pm to 1pm on Online event via Microsoft Teams - 24th March 2026, 10.30am to 11.30am at Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD. Please report to the main reception and advise you are attending the Short Breaks Pre-market engagement session. Any suppliers wishing to attend one of the above sessions should provide confirmation of the session they wish to attend, the attendee(s) name, job title, contact number and email address (if joining the online session). Please send confirmations to childrens.commissioning@bracknell-forest.gov.uk by 1pm 20th March 2026. Alternatively, if you are not able to attend, and you would like a copy of the materials following the session, please submit that request to childrens.commissioning@bracknell-forest.gov.uk by 1pm 20th March 2026.
