Short Breaks for Children and Young People with Disabilities
Notice Description
The Short Breaks service offers targeted support for children and young people with disabilities (age 5-18) whose needs cannot be met in mainstream settings and who need more specialist help due to their disability. The service will be delivered in Bracknell during weekends and school holidays.
Planning Information
Bracknell Forest Council are seeking to engage with providers that can deliver Short Breaks for children and young people with disabilities to participate in Preliminary Market Engagement and assist in developing the local authority’s approach to a targeted Short Breaks service. Ahead of a tender process for a new service anticipated to start in April 2026, Bracknell Forest Council are seeking to engage with providers that can deliver high quality activities for the following groups of young people with disabilities: - Primary Age (approx 35 young people) - Primary Age with Complex Needs (approx 10 young people) - Secondary Age (approx 22 young people) - Secondary Age with Complex Needs (approx 10 young people) The numbers above are an indication of current demand, on average there are 15-20 new referrals a year. The market engagement events will be held on: - 21st July 2025, 1pm to 3pm on Microsoft Teams - 23rd July 2025, 10am to 12pm at Time Square, Market Street, Bracknell, RG12 1JD If you would like to participate or have any questions, please email childrens.commissioning@bracknell-forest.gov.uk. When sharing your interest for the event, please advise which session you would like to attend and who will be attending the session.
