Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council has successfully completed an open procurement process to establish a framework for "Cleaning and Associated Services in Domestic Settings." This framework aims to deliver essential domestic cleaning services and associated tasks, ensuring eligible individuals can safely return home from hospital or continue living at home without the risk of requiring additional care placements. With a framework covering diverse service areas—Cleaning South, Mid, and North Nottinghamshire, as well as specialist and garden maintenance services—the contract is set for a primary period from 1st November 2025 to 31st October 2028, with the possibility of a 12-month extension. The process was executed through an open competition under threshold regulations, engaging multiple small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to fulfil the service requirements across various locations in Nottinghamshire.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the cleaning and facilities management sectors, particularly those positioned as small or medium enterprises, to expand and solidify their footprint within the local community. With a strategic focus on the delivery of essential services to vulnerable populations, businesses offering innovative, high-quality cleaning solutions are ideally suited to benefit from this framework. By participating in this framework, suppliers can secure long-term contracts and align themselves with public sector procurement practices, which could potentially lead to further local authority opportunities over the duration of up to four years.
