Summary of the contracting process

The University of York, located in Heslington, York, has initiated an open procurement process for the provision of an Automated Workflow System. This tender falls under the category of Laboratory, Optical, and Precision Equipment, specifically aimed at improving archaeological lipid extract processes. Interested parties are invited to submit tenders by 1 September 2025, with the contract expected to commence on 22 September 2025 and potentially extend until 30 November 2028. With a focus on enhancing instrument efficiency and optimising workflows, providers of automated systems and supportive technologies can benefit significantly from this contract. The potential for a service contract extension of two years beyond the initial warranty period offers businesses a longer-term engagement opportunity. Firms with experience in supplying, installing, and commissioning such systems are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract.
