Provision of Iridium Mobile and Fixed Terminals (Business Continuity Planning)
Notice Description
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) has tendered for the provision of 19 Iridium satellite communication terminals with airtime contracts to provision a resilient, non-terrestrial communication capability during a national or critical infrastructure outages. Please note that the awarded value excludes extension options, but these were taken into account as part of the whole life cost assessment in accordance with the ITT procedure set out.
Planning Information
Following a desktop exercise to identify potential suppliers, the MCA has already undertaken market engagement to establish budget costs, the availability of potentially suitable solutions and to determine the best approach to the procurement (open procedure). The MCA believes it now has sufficient insight into the supply market to go out to tender for our requirement. Details of how to communicate with the MCA during the tender period will be issued with the UK4 Tender Notice.
