Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process initiated by NHS England for the "Procurement for the Provision of One NHS Finance Programme Service" is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of NHS finance departments. Situated in London, NHS England operates from Wellington House, and their Commercial and Procurement Team is managing the procurement process. The procurement stage is a contract amendment as of 14th July 2026. This contract pertains to the health and social work services category, with specific focus given to business and management consultancy services. The initial contract started on 2nd January 2026 and is due to conclude on 1st January 2027, but the agreement allows for extensions up to 36 months, should performance and budget permit. This open procedure procurement is valued at approximately £1,496,000 (gross) and includes amendments due to technical reasons without changing the contractor.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health and social work services, as well as business and management consultancy services. With the focus on supporting committees, events, and development programmes within NHS finance departments, organisations that can provide strategic support and consultancy would be particularly well-suited to compete. The open procedure encourages a competitive environment, benefiting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs), which fits the contract's initial one-year term, providing potential for growth through additional extensions. Engaging with this process aligns with businesses aiming to expand into public sector support roles, particularly within the NHS's financial management landscape.
