Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership-Procurement Services, hosted by Velindre University NHS Trust, is planning a procurement exercise for their upcoming NHS Wales Stroke Technology Symposium. This procurement process falls under the services category and is set within the UK, specifically in Cardiff (region UKL22). The procurement is at the planning stage, with a pre-market engagement deadline set for 9th October 2025. The main focus is to catalyse innovative solutions addressing NHS stroke treatment challenges. The relevant event, a symposium aimed at fostering partnerships between NHS teams and technology providers, is scheduled for 13th November 2025, with a subsequent deadline for project proposals four weeks later. The allocated funding for selected projects totals approximately £60,000. The procurement method follows the Welsh devolved regulations, and collaboration with NHS teams is essential for proposal acceptance.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in technology solutions that complement medical and healthcare services. Companies offering data collection, remote monitoring, and medical adherence technologies, among others, are particularly well-suited to participate. By joining this initiative, businesses can collaborate with NHS stroke teams, potentially leading to funded projects and entry into wider `Contracts for Innovation' schemes. This is an excellent occasion for SMEs and VCSEs to align with NHS objectives, leveraging technological advancements for stroke prevention and treatment while contributing to national healthcare goals. The scope for innovation and collaboration presents fertile ground for business growth within the healthcare sector.
