Summary of the contracting process

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has awarded a contract for the Educational Gender Based Violence Programme, titled "GMCA1606 Educational Gender Based Violence Programme," under the services category. The programme has been granted £100,000 to Salford Foundation Limited to implement the STEPS project over a 12-month period. The procurement process followed a direct method, categorised as below-threshold without competition, and the contract commenced on 4th September 2025 with its conclusion set for 31st July 2026. The programme, located in the UKD3 region, aims to provide educational interventions in schools to address gender-based violence among boys aged 9-13.

This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specialising in educational and training services, particularly those focused on social issues like gender-based violence and promoting positive masculinity among young males. Organisations with experience in delivering school-based interventions and familiar with the educational sector's requirements would find this contract beneficial for expanding their portfolio. As there was no open competition, smaller businesses and SMEs in the education sector with a similar skill set could benchmark against this awarded contract for future opportunities to participate in similar initiatives led by public authorities.
