Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process, initiated by GA Trains Limited, involves a tender for rolling stock maintenance across Greater Anglia routes, valued at approximately £1.726 billion. As part of the ongoing tender stage, the procurement seeks to engage suppliers in maintaining a variety of train units, including Class 720, 745, and 755, covering regions such as UKH, UKI, and UKJ in the United Kingdom. The procurement method is a selective competitive flexible procedure, offering contracts of varying durations up to 15 years, with performance-related clauses. Key deadlines include an expression of interest due by 20th October 2025. The buyer, GA Trains Limited, is located in London, and is supported by IPEX Consulting Limited as the procuring entity. This tender allows submission through the Delta e-sourcing platform and encourages bids addressing the entire maintenance scope.

This tender creates significant business growth opportunities, particularly for firms specialising in railway maintenance services. Businesses with experience in managing complex contracts, such as Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreements, will find this tender particularly suitable. Additionally, companies capable of providing comprehensive solutions either internally or through subcontracting, and who possess requisite certifications like RISQS, will have a competitive edge. The potential economies of scale and varied contract lengths up to 15 years make this an attractive prospect for suppliers aiming to expand their service footprint within the UK rail industry.
