Summary of the contracting process

Sheffield Hallam University has completed the procurement process for their "Procurement of a Security Operations Centre (SOC) Solutions" aimed at enhancing data security software development services within the university. This contract falls under the services category within the University’s IT infrastructure needs. Located in Sheffield, within the UKE32 region, this initiative is delivered under a limited procurement method, ensuring compliance with the G-Cloud 14 Framework Agreement. The contract was signed on 26th September 2025 and will commence in October 2025, with a maximum term of up to four years. This project involves continuous cyber security services, providing round-the-clock threat detection and incident response capabilities to support the university’s digital security requirements.

This procurement offers substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those experienced in the higher education or complex technical environments, such as large-scale IT service providers. The opportunity to deliver resilient SOC services on a continuous basis presents an excellent avenue for businesses looking to expand their portfolio in cybersecurity and data management within academia. The absence of pre-publication of a call for competition suggests a direct award path, which might appeal to vendors already established within compliant frameworks like G-Cloud 14, such as KHIPU Networks Ltd, the awarded supplier for this contract.
