Summary of the contracting process

Southern Water Services Limited is actively seeking suppliers for a competitive tender titled "Sewer Sealing Request for Information," aiming to enhance sewer resilience by sealing them to limit water infiltration. This open tender, part of a competitive flexible procedure, is currently at the tender stage with key documents accessible until 2nd July 2026. The procurement, set in the South East region of the United Kingdom, is valued at approximately £280 million and is divided into two Lots focused on sewer lining and innovative groundwater infiltration solutions. Interested participants must comply with submission guidelines and ensure registration on the digital platform prior to bidding. The comprehensive procurement process involves multiple stages, including pre-qualification, invitation to tender, possible negotiations, and a best and final offer assessment.

This tender presents substantial business growth opportunities, particularly for firms specialising in sewerage works equipment, construction, management, and innovative ground water control techniques. The scale and scope of the contract favour companies with proven expertise in sewer sealing methods and robust project delivery capabilities. With provisions for SMEs and VCSEs, and potential contract renewals, both established contractors and innovative startups can benefit. The process encourages participation from diverse suppliers, offering a chance to collaborate on large-scale infrastructure improvements, thus contributing to environmental sustainability and enhancing operational capacities in public utilities.

Depending on the insights gathered, we may follow up with: One-to-one meetings (either in person or online), A live Marketplace event or townhall session (either in person or online), and/or a second RFI, if deemed necessary. The initial RFI is scheduled to be issued on 17th October 2025.
