"description": "Supported through detailed monthly reporting, the contractor shall demonstrate a robust supply chain for the recycling of Food Waste and any fractions extracted from the pre-treatment of this material. The required recycling rate for this contract is 100% of compliant material. Contractors are required to provide a clear Waste Acceptance criteria and robust contingency arrangements to ensure continuity of service. Where 100% recycling rate is not practicable due to breakdown or supply chain issues, the contractor must provide early warning notice a minimum of two weeks prior to the change in process detailing the operational challenges and anticipated duration. Supplier responses will include: A clear Waste Acceptance Criteria outlining acceptable / compliant material. A robust contingency plan that ensures continuity of service in the event of a breakdown and outlines alternative treatment methodologies used to maintain a minimum recycling rate of 95%* in the event of a breakdown. *Suppliers that meet all other criteria as set out in this specification but who are not currently able to meet (or exceed) the above recycling rate are invited to bid but will be scored in proportion to the current achievable recycling rates and the contractor's commitment to future research and development with a view to improving recycling rates throughout the duration of the contract.",
