Notice Description
Kontron have been appointed for the support and maintenance of safety critical radio systems around the Tyne and Wear metro network.
Procurement Information
It has been confirmed that parts and support would be available via KCC for a minimum of 15 years. KCC were subsequently acquired by S&T AG, before being renamed Kontron AG, with the Nexus contract subsequently performed by Kontron. These acquisitions and market restrictions in operation and licensing have resulted in only one provider being capable of fulfilling Nexus' current requirements.
