Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, being initiated by the Fusion21 Members Consortium. The procurement involves the renewal of a Grounds Maintenance Framework, targeting the provision of grounds maintenance and associated services across the United Kingdom. This framework is classified under the services category and aims to support national and regional coverage. It will commence from June 2026 and run for four years, with the final Invitation to Tender expected to be issued in early January 2026. Upcoming activities include a supplier webinar on 10 December 2025 and a market engagement exercise running through November and early December 2025. The engagement will close on 22 December 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses with capabilities in grounds maintenance and associated areas. Firms, particularly SMEs and VCSEs, that specialise in services like routine grass cutting, tree maintenance, and winter services, can benefit from participating in this framework. Businesses well-versed in complying with ISO standards for quality and environmental management, and those committed to sustainability and social value outcomes, will find this framework particularly suited to their expertise. The procurement, valued at £85 million net, offers a viable route for entities looking to expand their market presence in the public sector with flexible and value-driven service offerings.
