Summary of the contracting process

Great British Energy (GBE), a public authority based in London, is planning a tender process for "Technical and Professional Advisory Support" covering the period from 2026 to 2029. This initiative, aimed at powering Britain's clean energy growth, falls under the services category and is scheduled to commence with an interactive virtual Market Engagement Event on 10th December 2025. The event seeks to gather insights on contractual arrangements, providing a preview of the potential opportunities involved without committing to procurements. The procurement process is set to officially start in early January 2026, with anticipated contract awards occurring in March 2026. The overall programme's budget is up to £30 million including VAT.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in technical consultancy, energy services, and business development consultancy, especially those responsive to the UK's clean energy transition. The procurement method includes the Competitive Flexible Procedure allowing various suppliers, including SMEs and VCSEs, to contribute under specific frameworks established in the Procurement Act 2023. Potentially lucrative contracts offer up to £18 million per supplier with performance reviews scheduled mid-term, ensuring that businesses maintain high standards of performance. The strategic focus on clean energy and infrastructure provides fertile ground for companies eager to innovate and support the UK’s energy independence.
