Summary of the contracting process

Arriva UK Trains Limited procured an onboard mobile ticket retailing and passenger information system for CrossCountry and Chiltern Railway Company. Lot 1, CrossCountry, was awarded at £6,360,000 gross (£5,300,000 excluding VAT); the award date was 5 August 2026 and its contract runs from 18 August 2026 to 18 August 2031, with two possible one-year extensions. Lot 2, Chiltern Railway, was awarded at £1,440,000 gross (£1,200,000 excluding VAT), on the same award and contract dates and with the same extension arrangement. Evaluation weighted technical requirements 40%, legal 20% and commercial 40%.
