Summary of the contracting process

InterTradeIreland is seeking suppliers through an open procedure for its "Shared Island Women in Research" programme, aimed at supporting women researchers across the UK, specifically from Northern Ireland. The initiative is designed to help women commercialise their research and progress towards investment and business creation, under the Shared Island Enterprise Scheme. The tender involves research and development services and related consultancy services, open to a wide range of businesses. Interested parties must submit their tenders electronically by 9 February 2026. The anticipated start date is 2 March 2026, with the project scheduled to be completed by 31 December 2028. Contract awards are expected to be announced by 2 March 2026. The procurement is classified under the central government and Northern Irish devolved regulations apply.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in research and development consultancy, training services, and business services including law, marketing, and consulting. The programme is ideal for organisations capable of delivering high-quality, structured support and entrepreneurial training. Given the emphasis on bridging the gender gap, companies with robust outreach and regional balance strategies will be at an advantage. The anticipated contract value of up to £1,122,000 illustrates the project's scale, providing ample potential for business growth and collaboration in a high-impact social value initiative. Suppliers who are adept in executing programmes with quality as a priority will find this tender particularly suitable.
