Summary of the contracting process

Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) has procured military working dogs in four variants: Canine Protection and Detection Dogs at Level 1 and Level 2, with Level 2 providing enhanced capability; Specialist Search Dogs; and Mobile Ground Sensor dogs, also known as Arms and Explosives Search dogs. The procurement is for the dogs and associated dog training. Full capability requirements for each variant were to be set out at the tender stage. The work supports DE&S’s Protect Delivery Team.
