The Greater Manchester Combined Authority has concluded a procurement process under the title "GMCA 874.2 School Eco Refill Pilot - Wave 3," focusing on the education and training services sector. This contract, initiated on 19th January 2026, pertains to a third wave of Eco Refill Shops in 21 Greater Manchester schools, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability through student-run initiatives. The procurement method was direct, owing to exemptions for sole supplier and value for money under PA23 regulations. Pupils Profit was awarded the contract, effective from 12th November 2025, with the delivery spanning until 31st December 2026. The project involves a series of trainings and resources geared towards empowering students to manage eco-friendly refill shops. The schools involved have the flexibility to launch their shops at their convenience during the outlined terms.

This tender offers a unique opportunity for businesses that specialise in educational support services, particularly those focusing on sustainability and entrepreneurship at the school level. Companies capable of supplying educational materials, training resources, or eco-friendly products would find this contract aligns with their expertise and portfolio. Collaborating on initiatives like this can help businesses expand their presence within the educational sector while contributing positively to the community by supporting youth-led environmental initiatives. Large enterprises with a focus on the education sector might particularly benefit by integrating with this project and providing innovative resources or platforms to enhance the learning and trading experience in schools.
