Summary of the contracting process

Hywel Dda University Health Board commissioned an Arts and Health referral pathway for patients who regularly attend GP surgeries in Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. The service provides visual arts, crafts and mixed-media programmes for people living with chronic conditions or pain, social isolation, or mental health difficulties, with the aim of improving health and wellbeing. This is a health and community arts service (CPV 85140000), delivered through accessible venues in the three counties. The appointed arts organisation or organisations will work with attendees to co-create high-quality interventions. The requirement was split into four lots: Ceredigion was awarded to A4W Innovation C.I.C.; Pembrokeshire to Span Arts; Carmarthenshire A to PeopleSpeakUp; and Carmarthenshire B to Arts Care Gofal Celf. Each contract was signed on 23 March 2026 and is valued at £18,260. Each runs from 13 April 2026 to 12 April 2027, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.
