Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves The Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), seeking to maintain its QAS Addressing Software through a negotiated limited procurement method without the publication of a contract notice. The procurement, classified under IT services for consulting, software development, Internet, and support, is located in Scotland. The award stage has been reached, with the contract being signed on 4 February 2026, and it involves an agreement valid for one year. The supplier for this contract, valued at £530,984, is Experian Limited, a large-scale enterprise. This initiative supports continuity of service essential for NHS Scotland Health Boards' address verification needs as part of broader efforts to transition to new systems under the Scottish Government's Public Sector Geospatial Agreement.

This tender provides an opportunity for businesses specialising in IT services, particularly those with expertise in software licencing and support. Companies looking to engage in long-term partnerships with large public bodies like NHS Scotland could benefit from this contract, as it ensures a stable client relationship and showcases their capacity to support critical healthcare administration systems. The specificity of the requirements—particularly the need for continuity in clinical and business applications—suggests that experienced IT service providers with a strong track record in handling complex healthcare systems will be particularly well-suited to benefit from similar future procurement opportunities.
