MK4 TO Purchase Project
Notice Description
TfWR intends to enter into a contract for the acquisition of a single Mk4 Trailer Open (TO) rolling stock vehicle. The vehicle will be incorporated into the existing Mk4 fleet currently operated by Transport for Wales Rail Limited. The procurement relates solely to the purchase of one compatible rolling stock vehicle to support operational resilience and fleet continuity.
Procurement Information
The direct award is justified on the basis that the rolling stock vehicle is required to be technically and operationally compatible with the existing Mk4 fleet. Only a limited number of suppliers are capable of providing a vehicle that meets the necessary technical, safety, and interoperability requirements without disproportionate cost, delay, or operational risk.
