Notice Description

Leeds City Council ('The Council'), is looking to commission an artist or artist collective to deliver 3 site-specific public art projects in Morley. The Council, in partnership with Morley Town Council, is working to improve routes to the railway station for pedestrians, to encourage active travel. The objective of the mural project is to improve the visual experience of pedestrians, local residents and people visiting Morley. To support this project, the Council would like to seek information from local artists regarding this potential procurement exercise. You are therefore invited to consider the requirements detailed in this document and complete the attached questionnaire to give us your feedback on the proposed approach. We are seeking an artist or artist collective to deliver 3 placemaking site-specific public art projects. The projects include a large mural on the side elevation of a block of 3 story flats, Hull Street/Ackroyd Street, Morley. The second mural location is not secured but this will be smaller and located on the side of a building on the route to the railway station. The third part of the project involves painting five traffic signal boxes. The artwork should be original and reflect the unique heritage and contemporary identity of Morley.
