Summary of the contracting process

The Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has issued an intention to award notice under the Provider Selection Regime for the Crisis Wellbeing Practitioner services, targeting health services specifically catered for young people aged 0-17 presenting to the Central Crisis Assessment and Intensive Support Team (CAIST) in the Norwich area, designated by the region code UKH1. This procurement process is at the award stage, with representations by providers due by 13th March 2026, following a standstill period. The contract, valued at approximately £63,827, is expected to commence on 1st January 2026 and conclude on 31st March 2027. The procurement method bypasses prior publication requirements, indicating a direct award under the 2023 Health Care Services Regulations.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for businesses in the health services sector, especially those specialising in crisis intervention and well-being support for young individuals, to expand their footprint in Norfolk. The existing provider, YMCA Norfolk, is deemed to satisfy the contract requisites suitably, signalling an opening for collaboration with established entities knowledgeable in integrated and sustainable service provision. Businesses that exhibit strengths in quality, innovation, value, collaboration, and in promoting social value and reducing health inequalities are particularly apt to compete, leveraging the opportunity to cement their growth within the sector while contributing meaningfully to community health outcomes.
