Procurement Information

Avon Fire Authority is indicating its intention to award a public contract to Bristol City Council for the provision of financial services, in accordance with Section 41 - Direct Award of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) having concluded that 'competition is absent for technical reasons' This decision is due to technical reasons namely that we have a shared finance database and software solution, meaning no other supplier can provide the system or services Avon Fire Authority will observe a standstill period of eight working days beginning the day after publication of this notice. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and the Procurement Regulations 2024. It is considered that this contract can be awarded by way of a Direct Award to Bristol City Council in accordance with Section 41 and Schedule 5 - paragraph 6 (a)due to an absence of competition for technical reasons, only a particular supplier can supply the goods, services or works required, and (b)there are no reasonable alternatives to those goods, services or works.
