Summary of the contracting process

The Industrial Dwellings Society (1885) Ltd is undertaking a procurement process to appoint a single contractor for the provision of scaffolding services. This open tender is focused on works related to scaffolding design, erection, hire, inspection, and dismantling across residential properties in London, UK. The procurement process is currently at the tender stage, with critical dates including the enquiry period ending on 28th March 2026 and the tender submission deadline on 17th April 2026. The two-year contract, starting from May 2026, plans to cover various scaffolding services both for planned and responsive works, with an option to extend for a further year based on satisfactory performance. Services must comply with TG20:21, BS EN 12811 standards, and cater to emergency "make-safe" activities and minor repairs with significant resident protection and performance reporting requirements.

This tender presents an opportunity for scaffolding businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to expand their operations within the public sector. With a focus on residential environments, bidders that excel in customer care and compliance with UK regulations will be well-positioned to succeed. The procurement process offers a competitive edge to companies that can deliver quality services at an optimal price, as the evaluation model comprises 40% quality and 60% price. Businesses with capabilities in scaffolding and temporary access services will find potential for growth through this contract, impacting service delivery in a bustling metropolitan area. Engaging in this tender could significantly bolster a company’s portfolio, enabling the winner to partner with a historical public authority like IDS and enhance its market reputation.
