Reading Borough Council has completed the award phase of a procurement for the "Holiday Activity Fund Framework," targeting services within the social work category, without accommodation, and recreational, cultural, and sporting services. Located in the UKJ11 region (Reading, UK), this procurement takes place under an open procedure. The programme, supported by a £450,000 fund for the year 2026-2027, aims to deliver the Holiday Activities and Food Programme for children eligible for free school meals, thus addressing food insecurity and educational inequalities during school holidays. The process, currently in the award stage, began on 24th June 2026, with contracted services set to commence on 13th July 2026, concluding by 2027, with potential renewals extending up to 2029.

This procurement presents significant growth potential for businesses specialising in social services and recreational activities, particularly those focusing on community engagement and youth programmes. The project supports a range of suppliers, including SMEs like AN SSC Limited and N3W ANGLE CIC, and larger entities such as Greenwich Leisure Limited. The framework agreement offers opportunities for sustainable partnerships with local authorities, while enhancing community outreach and service provision capabilities. Companies equipped to deliver high-quality services, facilitate local partnerships, and address educational and social needs would be strategically positioned to benefit from this initiative.
