Summary of the contracting process

MAG Airport Limited is seeking a group-wide supply solution for operational and corporate uniforms, specialist workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE) for airport operations. The requirement covers clothing, footwear, luggage articles and accessories, with associated garment management, distribution and ongoing service support. It is a goods contract serving MAG’s UK airports and associated business units, with delivery across England. The buyer is MAG Airport Limited, based in Manchester. The contract is intended to provide consistent uniform and PPE provision across the group, supporting quality, sustainability and operational resilience. Variations of clothing, accessories and footwear may be required within the uniform and PPE range, so suppliers should be able to manage a broad and changing product portfolio rather than a single standardised garment line.

The procurement has reached tender: MAG invited offers through a competitive flexible procedure under the Procurement Act 2023. It is a multi-stage process comprising a PQQ or selection questionnaire, tender response, an optional best and final offer stage, and contract award. The expression-of-interest deadline was 26 June 2026 at 11:59pm, and the PQQ deadline is 21 September 2026 at 3pm. Tender responses are due by 20 November 2026 at 11:59pm, with award expected by 1 February 2027. The contract is scheduled for 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2032, with options to extend to 31 March 2034. The estimated value is £7,000,000 excluding VAT (£8,400,000 including VAT). Commercial value carries 50%, technical quality 30% and ESG 20%.

This opportunity suits suppliers of uniforms, workwear and PPE that can provide end-to-end supply, garment management, distribution and continuing customer support for a large airport group. MAG will pre-verify participating suppliers’ capability to deliver the required goods, so bidders should be ready to evidence reliable supply, operational capacity and the ability to support multiple UK airport sites and associated business units. Relevant strengths include technical competence, dependable logistics, stock and product management, and experience supplying specialist protective clothing alongside corporate and operational uniform. Suppliers should also be able to demonstrate strong environmental, social and governance performance and legal compliance. Small and medium-sized enterprises are identified as suitable, although the group-wide requirement will favour businesses able to maintain consistency and resilience across a broad product range.
