Summary of the contracting process

Respect Collaboration Trust procured alternative education delivered through music for children of compulsory school age who cannot receive suitable education at school because of suspension, exclusion or another reason. The service covers education and training, including service delivery, staffing, course provision, attendance management, progress tracking and outcomes, behavioural and safeguarding management, quality assurance and compliance. Provision is delivered in the East Midlands, for the Trust’s requirements. The arrangement can accommodate ad hoc purchases of education places according to pupils’ needs and provider capacity, with the possibility of regular core places in some areas. The buyer is Respect Collaboration Trust, based in Derby, with PHP Law LLP acting as procurement consultant.

Financial and operational resilience matters: providers should hold appropriate public and employers’ liability insurance, cyber cover, abuse or sexual misconduct liability cover, and have dependable staffing, transport and data protection arrangements. Small and medium-sized enterprises and voluntary, community or social enterprises were considered suitable.

Options: The right to additional purchases while the contract is valid. The scope of this agreement is not restricted by pupil numbers. It is anticipated that places will be purchased on an ad hoc basis, dependant on the pupil's requirements and capacity of the best value provider. However, it will be possible, in some areas, for core places to be arranged on a regular basis.

Renewal: Rolling year on year for 5 years (1+1+1+1+1)
