Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is currently at the planning stage, orchestrated by Procurement for Housing, a public authority at the sub-central government level based in Birchwood, Warrington, United Kingdom. The initiative titled "Communal Doors and Door Entry Systems - Supply & Installation" aims to establish a framework agreement set to cover England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Suppliers are invited to engage in preliminary market engagement by expressing interest via email by 21st May 2026. This engagement seeks to shape the framework's strategy, reflecting the market needs and requirements. The framework is anticipated to begin on 1st December 2026 with a duration of two years, including optional extensions, potentially lasting till 2030. The total estimated value of the procurement is £80 million, with the main procurement category being works related to the installation of communal doors.

This tender presents a significant business growth opportunity for companies specialising in the installation of doors, particularly those experienced in aluminium, steel, and timber constructions, as these are the three lots within the framework. The requirement for survey, design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of complex door systems can attract a diverse range of businesses, particularly SMEs. Suppliers skilled in providing wired and non-wired door entry systems will find this framework beneficial. Engaging with this procurement could open doors to a larger client base across the UK, offering long-term revenue potential through extended contracts and renewals.

Planning Information

As we shape the strategy for this new framework, we are keen to ensure it reflects both the needs of our members and the market. We are therefore seeking suppliers to engage with us to share their capabilities and expertise. We would like to engage with suppliers of communal doors to review the proposed lot structure, develop a robust specification, review potential pricing methodology and identify any requirements we should consider when tendering for and setting up this framework agreement. If you are interested in engaging with PfH please express your interest by emailing AssetWorks@pfh.co.uk no later than 21st May 2026. Title your email "Preliminary Market Engagement - Communal Doors". A questionnaire and accompanying information will be issued to suppliers who register their interest and we may invite suppliers to an individual follow-up meeting to discuss their feedback. Thank you for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you.
