GMCA1832 Supply of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and Associated Equipment and Services
Notice Description
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is required by law to ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) worn by operational fire fighters is fit for purpose, to enable them to perform their duties, and maintained to an appropriate standard in line with the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 2022 (PPE Regulations) (as amended from time to time). As such, Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), on behalf of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), seeks to procure a modern, interoperable Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) solution, including: * Breathing apparatus sets * Telemetry-based Entry Control Boards (ECB) * Associated ancillary and support equipment
Planning Information
GMCA and GMFRS will be conducting a market engagement event in relation to GMCA 1832, the procurement of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, including associated equipment and services. Market engagement will take place on the working days between Monday 28th September to Friday 9th October (inclusive). Individual sessions will be held, for individual interested parties (Suppliers), over the course of two days each, within the time frame outlined above. Suppliers are required to formally express their interest via the advert for this project within the Chest e-procurement portal (https://www.the-chest.org.uk/). The deadline for formally expressing interest is 12pm 11th September 2026. Agendas will be provided to each Supplier individually following a confirmed expression of interest via the messaging function within the Chest e-procurement portal. The detailed agenda will be shared with Suppliers who have formally expressed an interest via the messaging service, after the expression of interest window closes - containing further details in line with the following overview: Location: GMFRS Bury Training and Safety Centre Time: (2 days) 10am-4pm Agenda items to include: Introductions, Project Overview, GMFRS Team Presentations, Supplier Presentations including Practical Presentations and Demonstrations. All correspondence must be sent via the Chest e-procurement portal.
