Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Newham is in the planning stage for procuring Site Security and Associated Services, aiming to enhance the security across various sites in the region UKI41, United Kingdom. This procurement process involves planned static guarding, mobile patrols, and the security of vacant premises, with services required varying from short-term responses to long-term coverage, sometimes necessitating 24/7 availability. A preliminary market engagement notice was published on 27 May 2026, highlighting the overarching plan and seeking feedback from potential suppliers. The formal tendering and detailed timeline are yet to be announced, with a future notice anticipated on 1 July 2026.

This procurement initiative offers substantial prospects for businesses specialising in security services, particularly those experienced in dynamic and varied environments. The total contract value is anticipated to reach up to £41 million, earmarked for both SMEs and larger enterprises capable of deploying static and mobile security solutions efficiently. Businesses that can demonstrate flexibility, swift responsiveness, and robust supply chain arrangements stand to benefit significantly. The procurement method includes utilising existing Framework Agreements and Dynamic Purchasing Systems when deemed appropriate, providing diverse engagement avenues for potential bidders.
