Summary of the contracting process

Nottingham City Council has announced a future tender concerning the Wilford Hill Crematorium Replacement and Maintenance Programme. As part of the Planning stage, this procurement process aims to replace three existing cremators and an emissions abatement system with new, fuel-efficient counterparts, alongside a long-term maintenance agreement lasting up to 25 years. The endeavour, categorised under the 'works' sector, aligns with the legal framework stipulated by the Procurement Act 2023 and is set to be implemented within the UK, specifically in Nottingham. The procurement notice was published on 21st May 2026, with a further announcement expected by 30th June 2026, before the contract commences on 1st March 2027.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses involved in the construction and installation of crematorium equipment, providing an expansive platform for contractors with expertise in mechanical and electrical installation services to secure long-term partnerships. Companies with a strong track record in energy-efficient solutions and servicing agreements would be highly advantageous in meeting the project's requirements. Contractors who engage early by registering on Nottingham City Council's e-tendering platform can stay informed and position themselves strategically when the tender process progresses, ensuring they are well-prepared to compete effectively once the opportunity goes live.
