Summary of the contracting process

The National Gallery, a public authority in central government, has awarded a contract for a Security Consultant to support the development of its new wing at Trafalgar Square, London. The contract, valued at £334,209 excluding VAT, was awarded to D.J. Goode & Associates Limited. The procurement process followed an open, competitive flexible procedure, with the contract period set from 1st August 2026 to 31st March 2032. This tender involved ensuring protective security, hostile vehicle mitigation, and other related security strategies for the new construction while integrating it with the present National Gallery estate in a sensitive urban and cultural context.

This opportunity represents a significant prospect for businesses specialising in security consultancy services, particularly those experienced in high-profile public infrastructure projects within cultural, urban, and heritage-sensitive contexts. Companies with expertise in developing comprehensive security strategies involving collaboration with various stakeholders, such as local councils and police services, would be well-suited for similar future tenders. Such contracts are likely to appeal to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with the technical capacity to manage complex, large-scale projects, as demonstrated by D.J. Goode & Associates Limited securing the contract amidst competition from eight other bidders.
