The Northern Lighthouse Board (NLB), a public authority within the central government of the United Kingdom based in Edinburgh, is planning a procurement process titled "Skerry of Ness and Hoxa Head Lighthouse Refurbishments." This project falls under the industry category of refurbishment work, specifically dealing with civil engineering at lighthouse locations on Orkney, United Kingdom, namely Skerry of Ness and Hoxa Head. The current stage of the procurement process is in planning, with key dates including a proposed tender release in mid-July 2026 and an anticipated site start date by the end of September 2026. Companies with experience in refurbishment works, especially in challenging tidal conditions, will find this project suitable for expanding their portfolio and presence in the public sector. With a total project value of £75,000, this is an attractive proposition for contractors looking to engage with government agencies and increase their visibility in infrastructure refurbishment. The ability to access and operate in isolated sites will be crucial for success in this competitive procurement opportunity.
